“Abode of Lord Shiva in the Himalayas”
The Kedarnath Temple Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India, dedicated to Lord Shiva and forming a vital part of the Char Dham circuit in Uttarakhand. Located at an altitude of approximately 3,583 meters in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, the temple stands against the stunning backdrop of snow-clad peaks and the flowing Mandakini River, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
The journey begins from Gaurikund, followed by a scenic trek of around 16–18 kilometers through breathtaking mountain trails. Pilgrims experience devotion, endurance, and natural beauty as they move closer to the divine shrine. The Yatra season typically opens in summer and continues until early winter, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country.
Beyond its deep religious importance, Kedarnath Yatra offers a unique blend of spirituality and adventure. The peaceful surroundings, fresh Himalayan air, and powerful spiritual energy make this pilgrimage a life-changing experience filled with faith, courage, and inner transformation. The temple is believed to be originally established by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya, adding immense historical and mythological significance. Despite challenging weather conditions, devotees undertake the journey with unwavering faith. Helicopter services and well-managed facilities now make the pilgrimage more accessible while maintaining its spiritual essence and traditional charm.
| Best time to visit:-
Summer: Kedarnath is good during the summer season from April to mid-June. The calm, pleasant summer sun and evening make the trek more enjoyable.
Monsoon: The trek route is muddy and slippery during monsoon. It is better to avoid risky places when trekking in this season.
Spring: The spring month from mid-September to early November is considered the best time to trek to Kedarnath. Trekking is fun with lush greenery all around and calm weather.
Winter: In winters govt. of uttrakhand don’t allow to go do yatra becaue of closing of temple during snowy weather.
| Itinerary:
Day 1: Haridwar – Sitapur or Sonprayag
- Drive Duration: 8- 9 hours, Distance: 228 km
- Altitude: 1319 m
Highlight:
- Departure at 6:30 AM from Haridwar / Dehradun, and after 8 to 9 hours of journey, you’ll be at Sitapur or Sonprayag.
- Sitapur or Sonprayag is the OnMap base camp and starting point of the Kedarnath trek.
- There are several local shops where you can buy jackets, gloves, hats, shoes, etc., if needed. However, it is recommended to bring all the necessary items for the trek in advance and not rely on these shops.
Day 2: Sitapur or Sonprayag – GauriKund – Kedarnath
- Trek Distance: 21 KM, Duration: 7 Hours
- Altitude: 3583 m
Highlight:
- Early morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. From there, drive to Gaurikund, which is 5.5 km away, and then start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath.
- You can hire a doli or a horse for your trek (Cost Not Included). On arrival at Kedarnath, check in to the camp for an overnight stay. Only basic accommodation/camp is available on a sharing basis; you can take meals at your own cost.
Reference to Helicopter service: Kindly note: There will be some changes in the itinerary for those who are unable to get Heli service due to the weather conditions for visiting Kedarnath on day 02. The alternative programme for day 03 would be as follows:
Those who are unable to get Heli Service, for visiting the Kedarnath Temple, start the trek early in the morning of day 03 by pony/Doli/walk (approx 21 Kms one side), so that you can come back the same day by late evening.
Day 3: Kedarnath – Gaurikund – Sitapur or Sonprayag
- Trek Distance: 21 KM, Duration: 6 Hours
- Altitude: 1319 m
Highlight:
- Early in the morning (4:00 AM) go for temple darshan. After darshan, come back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, trek down to Gaurikund.
- Your vehicle awaits for you in Sonprayag Car Parking which will drive you back to the hotel in Guptkashi. On arrival, check-in to the hotel for an overnight stay.
- Stay at sitapur or sonprayag.
Day 4: Sitapur or Sonprayag – Haridwar
- Drive Distance: 227 KM, Duration: 8-9 Hours
- Altitude: 110 m
Highlight:
- Morning (7:00 AM) after breakfast drive to Badrinath. On arrival check-in to the hotel for an overnight stay.
If reached on time you can enjoy the beautiful evening aarti at Badrinath Temple.

Inclusions:
- Transportation from Haridwar to Kedarnath and back to Haridwar.
- Accommodation in hotels mentioned or similar.
- Meals as per package (Breakfast and Dinner included in package) and NO MEAL at Kedarnath (If you want to add it, please let us know
- A tour guide will be provided for 25 passengers and above.
- All transfers and sightseeing by AC vehicles (Vehicle is not at disposal and Ac will not work during hilly drives).
- Vehicles as per group size on a sharing basis.
- Vehicle is not at disposal – means it is for transfers and sightseeing as per the itinerary.
- Seats Allotment in the Vehicle is on a first come first serve basis at the venue, irrespective of the booking dates.

Exclusions:
- Helicopter Shuttle tickets to Kedarnath (Subject to availability).
- Train fare/ Airfare.
- Pony and Palki Charges.
- Lunch.
- Travel insurance covering medical evacuation, hospitalisation, air evacuation, baggage insurance and trip cancellation.
- Use of mini-bar in the hotel rooms, wherever applicable.
- Any optional trips other thanthose specified in the program.
- Any en-route or personal expenses such as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, telephone calls, tips and gratuities, laundry, etc.
- Personal equipment like clothes, shoes, daypacks, personal medical kit, etc.
- Any exigency expenses due to reasons beyond our normal control.
- Any personal expenses, room service, special orders, mineral waters, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, porterage, tips, phone calls, laundry, etc.
- Any extra excursions or sightseeing apart from the above specified itinerary.
- Camera fees, guide charges.
- Any incidental and other expenses which are not specified in the inclusions.

| Kedarnath Yatra Tour Policies
Confirmation Policy
- The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
- In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
- Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.
Refund Policy
- The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
- All applicable refunds will be credited to the client’s respective account.
Cancellation Policy
- In case of cancellation 15 days before the travel date, 15% of the total cost of the tour will be charged as cancellation fees
- In case of cancellation 7 days to 15 days before the travel date, 20% of the total cost of the tour will be charged as cancellation fees
- If canceled between 0 days and 7 days before the travel date, you will be charged 100% of the total cost of the tour as cancellation fees
